In this Facilities Engineering role, you will be part of a hard charging, professional team tasked with designing, testing, implementing, operating, installing, troubleshooting, and continually optimizing our rapidly expanding worldwide facilities. You'll get to operate and manage the grounds and facilities that house our many Satellite Earth Stations. Communication matters and you will have the opportunity to interface with numerous internal and external work groups while managing Break/Fix incidents from the problem determination stage through resolution implementation. Come on board and use your detective skills to identify root causes for technical issues as well as develop procedural/technical recommendations for improvement. The day-to-day
  • Create, update, and maintain gateway-related Method & Procedure (M&P) and Runbook documentation utilized by teammates
  • Help maintain and update as required all training material associated with gateway operations and perform training
  • Participate in meetings daily or when needed
  • Help manage spares inventory stored by a third party and advise when quantity adjustments are appropriate
  • Help to identify and implement any required gateway upgrades based upon feedback from Engineering Teams and Technical Operations
  • Generate scheduled maintenance documentation, coordinate and schedule maintenance, and project activities
  • Remotely work with external vendor remote hands support on all fixing, resolution, and improvement activities
  • Provide timely incident ticket and project updates in the ticketing system, work to resolve and close ticketed incidents quickly
  • Assist with writing incident (RCA's) Root Cause Analysis findings when needed
What you'll need
  • 6+ years' experience in Facilities Engineering, including maintaining and troubleshooting HVACs, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)s, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)s
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuitry and the ability to troubleshoot using diagrams and one lines.
  • Ability to author and update technical processes for a wide audience
  • Proven ability to manage vendor and remote workforce, to including ability to direct work over the phone and provide technical assistance and access work product
  • Ability to developing complex Scope of Works (SOW)s and uptrain peers and vendors on their execution
  • Strong ability to read and understand site drawings, mechanical, electrical, and component level schematics and procedural manuals
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to support rotating on-call schedule
  • Associate degree in technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
What will help you on the job
  • Experience with Caterpillar Generators, Dantherm and/or Rittal Wall Mount HVAC Units, Eaton Powerware UPS, complex security systems
  • Hands on knowledge of general facilities upkeep and code requirements (landscaping, lights, gate controllers, etc.)
  • Experience programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)s to include developing and modifying ladder logic
  • Capacity management of power, cooling, and other site systems
  • Experience with maintenance and operations of prefabricated telecommunication shelters and cabinets
  • Ability to define requirements and implement capital build/retrofit projects to include cost projections and timelines
  • Experience with networked monitoring and control applications
