Hofmann Engineering is amongst the largest and most progressive specialist heavy equipment manufacturers in Australia.  The company services customers ranging from the world's great resource and mining conglomerates, through to leaders in international aerospace and defence technology.

Hofmann Engineering has an established heavy engineering workshop in Bendigo, specializing in mining equipment and rail, and we are seeking to fill the position of afternoon shift Leading Hand in our established Fabrication department.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure that the team is conforming to the Hofmann Safety Management System.

· Assist in monitoring department workshop production by maintaining department schedules.

· Help to support and coordinate our general fabrication work flow.

· Suggest and carry out improvements on job and work practices.

· Assist staff in carrying out jobs, ensuring good workmanship is carried out.

Skills & Experience:

· Trade Qualification in Boilermaker/Welder.

· Strong leadership and communication skills.

· Ability to read drawings and understand and work to specifications and standards.

· Strong communication and people skills.

· Significant Mechanical or Boilermaker experience.

· Supervisory experience would be highly regarded.

· Additional certificates/licenses would be advantageous.

This role will demand flexibility and a "can-do" attitude. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, a proven self-starter who is keen to work as a flexible team member.

Training in workplace safety and our business management systems will be an ongoing process.

This position is full time and can commence immediately. Remuneration will consist of a competitive hourly rate plus super, based on the skills & experience of the successful applicant.
