Position Overview:
As we continue our ongoing growth and the acquisition of exciting new projects within our commercial fit-out and new build sectors, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our dynamic and experienced project team. This role involves managing all construction and contractual matters associated with the project to ensure optimal commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage on-site construction operations, ensuring effective coordination of teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Maintain high levels of communication and collaboration with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to achieve optimal commercial and project outcomes.
- Oversee all cost and contractual matters including forecasting, reporting, claims, variations, supplier agreements, and cash-flow optimisation.
- Interpret and apply contractual documentation to support decision-making and mitigate risk.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) procedures in line with the company's ISO-accredited management system.
- Drive quality assurance and ensure all works align with company standards and project objectives.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost efficiencies and schedule improvements.
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project to monitor progress, manage risk, and enhance productivity.
- Champion sustainability initiatives and oversee compliance with environmental performance targets such as NABERS and Green Star.
- Ensure successful project completion including finalisation, defect management, and achievement of client satisfaction.
- Lead, coach, and support project team members, fostering a high-performance culture and professional growth.
- Actively contribute to the tender process, offering insights into methodology, risk management, and programme.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects, with a minimum of 5+ years as a Project Manager for Head Contractors.
- Extensive background in contracts management across new builds, fit-outs, and refurbishment projects.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and foster collaborative working environments.
- Expertise in project planning, risk management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Australian construction industry, including HSEQ compliance and standards.
- Proficient in MS Project and MS Office Suite, with working knowledge of construction management platforms such as Jobpac, Procore, and Hammertech.
- Degree-qualified in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise a diverse workload in high-pressure environments.
- Solutions-focused with a proactive mindset and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- Have the right to work in Australia.
