Role Summary

Our NSW State Government client is looking for a
Senior Enterprise Network Engineer
to join their Networks team, specialising in campus network design for LAN and Wi-Fi environments.
This senior technical role is the highest escalation point for complex networking issues
and will focus on delivering strategic improvements in security, performance, and user experience. Key initiatives include implementing wired network device authentication (802.1x) and integrating updated switch and Wi-Fi infrastructure standards.

Contract Summary

Pay Rate: $900-$1,000 + super per day (based on experience)

Duration: 12 months

Hours: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 50% in-office, 50% WFH

Location: Sydney

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise campus networks across LAN and Wi-Fi environments.
  • Deliver key security and performance improvements, including 802.1x wired network authentication and modernised switch and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • Serve as the highest technical escalation point for diagnosing and resolving complex network faults.
  • Develop and maintain design standards, network topologies, configuration databases, and implementation guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, field services, and external vendors to ensure seamless network integration and service delivery.
  • Provide expert technical advice and consultation during project planning and execution phases.
  • Implement and manage network security, access controls, and contingency procedures in line with best practices.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Over 10 years' experience in enterprise networking technologies, including design, implementation, and operations.
  • Proven background in large-scale network environments with advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Vendor experience with HPe Aruba Networking (including ClearPass, AirWave, Central), Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Infoblox.
  • Technical expertise across automation, firewalling, SD-WAN, SSE, routing & switching, AAA, and DDI.
