About The Opportunity
We are building a brand-new glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the large investment we have ever made. We recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland's glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plants, this will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and a range of new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2026.

• Contract: 6 months Fixed Term (plus potential extension)
• 10-day alternating Mon-Fri & Tue-Sat site role with an early start-time (latest 7AM in the morning).

What You Will Do
Reporting to the HSE Manager - Build/Run/Repair (BRR), you will support the operational delivery of the HSE Management Plan for a major project so that identified HSE outcomes are met and to provide timely and expert advice and support to the HSE and Project/ Construction Managers.

In This Role You Will

• Support and continuously enhance the safety culture through the delivery of risk-based safety strategies.
• Advise and assist the Project Team in all HSE-related matters
• Oversee as required incident investigations which drive continuous improvement and lessons learnt
• Manage and monitor corrective actions and liaise with regulatory contractors and third parties provider/project stakeholder.
• Schedule, communicate and direct emergency drills at the Project site
• Deliver induction and other HSE-related training
• Conduct periodic audits and inspections
• Liaise with contractor site representatives to maintain open communication and a high standard of safety and quality on the project

What You Will Bring To The Team

• Significant experience in Occupational Health and Safety related positions in a Heavy Industry, Construction or Mining environment
• Experience in Greenfield or Brownfield start-ups or shutdowns highly regarded
• Knowledge of several facets of safety such as instrumentation, mechanics, structural, electrical is desirable
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively to senior management and sub-contractors
• Strong ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Car License
