ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead the end-to-end delivery of engineering and manufacturing projects focused on line hardware fittings for the power transmission sector. You'll work hands-on with internal manufacturing teams, global suppliers, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to technical standards.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong grasp of production processes and the ability to drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules and production timelines
- Define scope and deliverables specific to line hardware fittings (e.g. clamps, brackets, vibration dampers)
Manufacturing & Expediting
- Collaborate daily with manufacturing teams to track progress and resolve bottlenecks
- Expedite orders to meet delivery deadlines
- Monitor materials, lead times, and fabrication milestones
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between design, production, procurement, and the client
- Provide proactive updates to customers regarding order status, technical issues, and delivery timelines
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all outputs meet relevant standards (e.g. AS1154, AS/NZS ISO)
- Address non-conformances and rework issues promptly
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of schedules, manufacturing progress, change requests, and risk logs.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to management and external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Strong experience in project management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in line hardware or power transmission components.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including casting, forging, galvanizing, and mechanical assembly.
- Proven ability to expedite production orders and navigate factory floor constraints.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with shop floor staff, suppliers, engineers, and clients.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, MS Project, and Excel for scheduling and tracking.
- Familiarity with relevant industry and safety standards (e.g., AS1154 series, ISO 9001).
- Qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Project Management; PMP or equivalent preferred.
