BTR Excavations is a well-established Civil Construction company in Adelaide North, with over 30 years in the Civil Construction industry. Due to growth in our company, BTR are seeking an additional Underground Service Locator to join the team.

About the role:

Join our team in Adelaide as a key player in our Civil Projects You will collaborate closely with our Project Manager, the office team, and client representatives. Your responsibilities will include conducting underground service location assessments, drainage investigations, utility surveying, and mapping.

To excel in this role, you should be a results-oriented individual with a passion for accuracy in site asset identification. A certification as a DB4YD Utility Locator is essential for this position. If you're ready to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Ability to read and interpret Dial Before You Dig plans
  • DBYD Certification (highly desirable)
  • Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience as an underground service locator
  • Ability to liaise with clients and project stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to undertake physical work (Accessing pits, potholing etc)
  • Experience Identifying types of services/utilities and providers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Driver's License (C Class minimum)
  • Commitment to safety & quality
  • White Card
Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct asset investigation utilising Dial Before You Dig plans
  • Utilise Electromagnetic Service Locator and Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) to identify depth, orientation and position of underground assets
  • Communicate findings effectively with project managers, construction crews, and clients
  • Reviewing plans to ensure all data has been collected and annotated correctly
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in underground utility locating
  • Record keeping, data entry, sketches, and instructions as required to complete the works safely
  • The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised

Start and finish in Waterloo Corner daily, so ideally you will be living in the Northern Area for your convenience.
