Marketing Manager-Retail
to join our Marketing team based at our Head Office in Northgate, Brisbane.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing- ANZ, this newly created key appointment is responsible for interpreting strategic plans, creating operational plans and communicating a vision that inspires, and increases the brand equity within the Vitamins & Minerals Supplier Market for our iconic and much-loved Retail brands.
With four direct reports, our new seasoned Marketing Manager will through our operational brand plans and toolkits deploy brand and education campaigns, build successful consumer and customer experiences, continue to improve our brand equity and drive sustainable growth in our sales.
We are entering an exciting new phase of growth at Metagenics, therefore we seek a Marketing Manager with the energy and drive to challenge, influence, engage, embrace change and inspire growth within our established and capable team.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strategic brand plans
- Develop annual brand plans & strategies including 3-year innovation pipeline, spanning Consumer and Practitioner target audiences, in collaboration with Marketing & Commercial Leads and define the biggest opportunities and risks to reach the revenue target
- Build the brand strategy in line with LRP and Global category strategies
- Lead and empower the overall Retail marketing team to deliver on strategic and operational objectives
- Define, in close collaboration with the Marketing Leads, the key (off- and online) recommended channels, messaging and tactics of the brand and education campaigns.
- Collaborate with Global Marketing team to build plans in alignment with Global Metagenics company priorities and brand guidelines that are then respected by the whole organization
- Define brand KPIs & targets for the group and regularly evaluate brand strengths and challenges
Management
- Own brand P&L and performance of Retail brands portfolio, being the lead representative for the performance position, ensure Marketing team review performance for their respective portfolio and identify actions to capitalise on opportunities and identify corrective actions as needed, and present risks and opportunities relative to the plan.
- Lead, coach and empower the overall Retail marketing team to deliver on strategic and operational executional plans and GTM plans for NPD and key brand and education initiatives
- Effective management, supervision and coaching of department/ team to ensure high performance, delivery of Retail Brand KPIs and personal development
- Development of team capabilities to build a high performing team and allow for effective succession planning
- Ensure a cooperative and productive interaction between staff of this, and other departments in the business. Encourage and foster strong collaboration between Marketing and Digital, Sales, Customer Marketing and Design teams to deliver plans and execute initiatives.
- Model behaviour and provide advice to employees to improve and maintain professional standards
- Implement new growth ideas with supporting rationale on the benefit to the business
Marketing
- Develop close working relationships with Commercial Team Leads & Global Marketing team that support and enable the Company Strategy
- Collect and analyse market intelligence data to make informed decisions and solve problems.
- Manage Retail brands marketing budget and ensure all investments have clear ROI
- Drive operational relationship for Metagenics brand with external agency partners, ensuring brand team collaborate with external agencies and foster a positive relationship
- Analyse competitor markets and prepare to respond as required with market competitiveness.
- Work closely with Customer Marketing, Sales team and Education to develop plans to share and sell in brand strategies and NPD launches into Retail customers successfully
- Understand the needs, trends, and challenges of consumers, ensuring marketing strategies are aligned with industry demands, trends and business objectives.
- Track, analyse and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, using insights to refine strategies and improve effectiveness.
- Work closely with internal technical teams (QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs) to understand and adapt to challenges and opportunities regarding new products, product launches, product methods, product claims etc
Skills and experience
- Degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline
- Strong knowledge base of Natural Medicine and regulatory environments (highly desired), or nutritional supplements industry
- Demonstrated ability to be led and facilitate high performance teams
- Mature experience within the pharmacy channels- essential
- Great interpersonal and communication skills that can scale to a range of different audiences Demonstrated experience in Sales forecasting and monitoring
- Project management skill and demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and in budget- highly desired
- Knowledge and experience of contemporary marketing, communications and promotions principles and practices
- Understanding of and application of AI tools to streamline work processes, within regulations and company policy
- Proven track record of building brands, developing and executing successful strategies and marketing campaigns
- Demonstrated ability to generate and implement innovative strategies to build business success
