Hoop City is Australia's premier basketball training academy and facility, dedicated to helping aspiring basketball players of all ages and skill levels elevate their game. Our state-of-the-art facilities include full courts, half courts, 3x3 courts, shooting bays, dribbling bays, and a fully equipped gym. We offer a range of programs, from beginner classes to elite training sessions, all led by expert coaches. Hoop City is committed to providing a safe, fun, and challenging environment for basketball enthusiasts.

What are we looking for?

Hoop City Basketball Centre is seeking a dynamic and proactive Venue Manager to oversee all aspects of our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for front-of-house operations, rostering, facilities management, maintenance, and driving memberships. This role requires a go-getter with excellent leadership skills and a passion for basketball and community engagement.

A key focus for the Venue Manager will be to drive an increase in participation in Hoop City's development programs. These programs are essential for nurturing talent and fostering a love for basketball within the community. The Venue Manager will:

  • Promote Development Programs: Actively market and promote our basketball development programs to attract new participants from amateur to pro.

  • Engage with the Community: Build strong relationships with local schools, clubs, and organisations to encourage participation and increase the reach of basketball.

  • Monitor Progress: Track and analyse participation rates and program effectiveness to continually improve and expand offerings.

  • Create a Supportive Environment: Ensure that all participants feel welcomed and supported, helping them to develop their skills and passion for the sport.

What will you do?
Customer Service:

  • Ensure every visitor feels valued and appreciated.

  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.

  • Maintain high standards of service to build trust and loyalty.

  • Gather and analyse customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Front-of-House Operations:

  • Manage daily operations of the front desk and customer service areas.

  • Ensure a welcoming and efficient environment for all visitors.

Rostering:

  • Develop and manage staff schedules for optimal coverage.

  • Monitor and approve timesheets and attendance records.

Facilities Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the basketball courts, gym, and other facilities.

  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and arrange for repairs as needed.

Maintenance:

  • Coordinate routine maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.

  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.

Driving Memberships:

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase membership sales.

  • Organise promotional events and campaigns to attract new members.

  • Build and maintain relationships with current members to ensure retention.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a sports or fitness environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Passion for basketball and community engagement.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in scheduling and rostering software.

  • Knowledge of facility maintenance and safety standards.

  • Sales and marketing experience to drive memberships.
