ASC is Australia's submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats' service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia's national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN-AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The Senior Business Analyst will work within the Business Enablement department to support the delivery of long-term, effective, and sustainable whole-of-system improvement (technology, process, and people) of ASC's capability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives from discovery through implementation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to business analysts and team members to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Conduct workshops with senior stakeholders to gather and validate requirements, and develop comprehensive business cases.
  • Perform gap analyses, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend process refinements, including automation where feasible.
  • Develop and maintain project control plans covering scope, financial status, and resource allocation.
  • Organise and facilitate stand-ups and project meetings, ensuring governance checkpoints and audit compliance are achieved.

About You

  • Tertiary level qualification in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Certification and/or experience working in a Hybrid/Agile environment.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and analysing business requirements and business impacts.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with experience solving complex business challenges.
  • Experience working with the Microsoft platform and related applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and user testing.
  • Proficiency in Agile project delivery software (e.g., Jira, Confluence), process automation software (e.g. Microsoft Power Automate, iBPMS, RPA), collaboration platforms (e.g. Microsoft 365), and data visualisation software (e.g. PowerBI).

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance. Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible. To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.
