LET'S EXPLORE THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise and support for financial business applications, primarily for SAP and related business support systems. This role acts as a technical liaison between the business users and IT, working to resolve incidents, deliver enhancements, and coordinate changes.
This role will play a key part in the planning and migration to a new ERP solution to replace our existing SAP environment. This is an Initial 12-month contract with a view to permanency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise for the following systems and applications:
- Core application platforms:
- SAP ERP – ECC 7 – Technically proficient in FI and CO modules
- Business support for finance-based SaaS solutions
- Perform system checks and audits to ensure smooth operation of environment
- Work closely with SAP MSP to translate business requirements to technical requirements
- Strong familiarity with financial processes in a technical ERP context
- Ability to work with finance team to understand, prioritise and remediate items such as billing and contract rules, revenue recognition, indexation etc. as required
- Master Data maintenance
- Material and district Management
- SAP Basis Knowledge around transports, use management
- Basic ABAP debugging skills
- Ability to interrogate, troubleshoot SAP integration workflows (iDocs, Bapis, RFCs).
- Provide analytical and support services to the business and IT
- Proactively address incidents, problems and requests across multiple applications
- Identify and document financial business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation
- Participate in the gathering and documentation of business and technical requirements for an ERP replacement
- Provide guidance and expertise and represent IT during a project to migrate to a new ERP
- Work with business users to scope, plan, build and enhance scalable custom solutions
- Document, develop, administer, monitor, and enhance the applications associated with the role
- Prepare test data and create detailed test plans as required
- Be available out of hours for the deployment of projects/enhancements, and for the resolution of high-severity incidents

- Expert SAP application knowledge in ECC 7, FI & CO modules– technical and functional
- Advanced SaaS Solution maintenance and enhancement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate Knowledge of architecture patterns
- Degree in Information Technology or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with SAP – certifications preferred
- ITIL Certified preferred
