Are you someone with a passion for data analyst and a keen interest in making a meaningful impact on crime research and policy development? Look no further The Western Australian Office of Crime Statistics and Research (WACSAR) is seeking a dynamic data analyst to join our dedicated team.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills to tackle real-world challenges, analysing crime and justice data to provide actionable insights that shape policy decisions. As part of the Data Modelling and Analytics team, you'll collaborate with experienced professionals, gaining invaluable hands-on experience while driving positive change in a multi-disciplinary environment.
This is a fixed term, full time vacancy available for 12 months, with the possibility of extension, subject to business requirements.

About The Role
The Office of the Western Australian Crime Statistics and Research (WACSAR) undertakes and supports independent research and analysis into crime and criminal justice issues in Western Australia. WACSAR is responsible for interpreting, understanding and critically evaluating current and emerging issues in order to inform policy development and government decision making.

The position assists with the development and application of statistical methods to extract, analyse and model criminal justice data for program evaluation and monitoring and modelling the justice system.

To do this you will work within the Data Modelling and Analytics team to assist with developing project requirements and then extract and analyse data from WACSAR's reporting systems, using contemporary analytical packages, including the R statistical computing package.
