MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capture and translate customer and end user requirements into system-level specifications, concepts, and designs.
- Develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation, requirements matrices, interface definitions, and validation plans.
- Work closely with BD, product and software engineering teams to ensure solutions align with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of architecture and design artefacts that balance performance, cost, and schedule considerations.
- Contribute to system integration and verification activities, including planning and execution of test programs.
- Develop and maintain systems engineering processes, tools, and templates that support consistent delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 quality management standards and traceability requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, stakeholder workshops, and customer meetings as a subject matter expert.
- Support preparation of bids, proposals, and technical documentation for new projects.
- Other activities as agreed with your leader to support the success of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering Field
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience working in a systems engineering role, preferably in complex technology in defence-related environments.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing systems engineering documentation and artefacts.
- Experience working within structured quality management frameworks such as ISO 9001, including documentation control and process improvement is highly desirable.
- Experience in Defence or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable
SKILLS:
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and systems thinking capability, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and a structured approach to managing requirements, traceability, and compliance.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and systems engineering tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Jama, DOORS or similar).
ADDITONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher).
- Police Check: A current National Police Check will be required prior to commencement.
- Travel: Occasional interstate and international travel.
