About the role
Join ACMI as a Lead Registrar to deliver registration resourcing, coordination, planning, scheduling, installation and dispersal for ACMI's Exhibitions, Commissions and Collections. The role manages a small team and contractors to deliver registration activities and provide a high standard of service delivery in exhibitions, Commissions, collection care and outward loans. This is a new full-time ongoing role reporting to the Head of Registration & Collections.
What you'll bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualification with significant experience and professional training in exhibition and collection registration, including object-based works, Time-Base media and digital works, game-based works and related handling and exhibition production practices. Sound knowledge of current industry standards pertaining to collections and exhibition practices.
- Strong work organisation skills including the demonstrated ability to prioritise multiple competing timelines, meet deadlines and use initiative in problem solving. Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
- Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with capacity to contribute to the review and implementation of systems and processes, understand emerging trends and the potential application of new technology in this field.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders, including collection organisations and exhibition production participants.
- Good understanding of OH&S requirements and safe working practices as they relate to the exhibition production and collections environment.
