Position Overview -

Casual Youth Worker (Connections)

  • Casual rate: $43.23 per hour, based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 2.1. Employees may also benefit from salary packaging options.

Provide support to young people through the Safe Haven Community Patrol and Youth Justice programs.

You will engage with clients and provide individual and group support, create and deliver programs, and contribute to foster a safe environment for the youth of South Burnett.

Youth Mentor (Staying on Track)

  • Full-Time rate of $34.58 per hour, based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 2 or 3 based on qualifications. Employees may also benefit from salary packaging options.

You will play an important role in reducing youth reoffending and helping young individuals' reintegration into society after detention. In this role, you will build constructive relationships with young people and their families, provide guidance, support, and resources to foster educational engagement and personal development.

You will work closely with different stakeholders, ensuring that the support given is holistic, culturally responsive, and effective in meeting the different needs of youth.

Youth Worker (Reconnect)

  • Full-Time rate of $38.65 per hour, based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 2.1. Employees may also benefit from salary packaging options.

Give support and programs to young people and their families, ensuring their individual needs are met through culturally appropriate and effective engagement strategies.

This position requires a proactive and compassionate approach to connect with youth and families, providing intensive case management and community outreach in collaboration with local stakeholders.

Youth Worker (Staying on Track)

  • Full-Time rate of $44.58 per hour, based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 4.1. Employees may also benefit from salary packaging options.

Assist young people in their transition back into the community after detention. Your responsibilities will include engaging with at-risk youth, providing mentoring, and delivering culturally appropriate support tailored to individual needs.

This role requires working with various stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support, and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practises is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to community service and a passion for working with young people. You should demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field.
  • Experience in engaging young people and delivering culturally appropriate support.
  • Strong understanding of personal and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work with families, community members, and service providers.
