At RISE Child and Youth Services, we are dedicated to making differences in young lives through everyday interactions. The Rise approach builds resilience, empowerment and stability into the lives of children and youth by taking a personal approach to their needs, goals and dreams.  Rise provides a number of Child and Youth Services in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs Region.

Who you are:
  • A calm, supportive, and creative person.
  • With emotional intelligence, flexibility and an accepting nature.
  • Able to connect with Children and Youth and build quality relationships
  • A person who can balance play and empathy, while working within a therapeutic framework.
What sets you apart:
  • Experience in Youth Work, Child Care, Day Care or Schools highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the child protection system and therapeutic practices.
  • Individuals that can uphold our values of empathy, visionary, objectivity, community and integrity.
What we require:
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Human Services, Community Services, Youth Work, Disabilities, Child and Family Services, or a related field or willingness to study.
  • Willingness to undertake the Hope and Healing Framework Foundations Training.
  • Availability to work shift work and participate in a 24/7 rostering system including sleep over shifts.
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children).
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Qld Drivers License.
The current role:

As a Youth Worker with RISE, you will be at the heart of our operations, helping to nurture and empower vulnerable young people. You will be instrumental in helping them:

  • Feel safe, valued, and nurtured in a stable environment.
  • Develop a strong sense of identity and belonging.
  • Feel Culturally Safe
  • Establish healthy coping strategies.
  • Foster positive connections with culture, family, friends, and the community.
  • Achieve their full potential in learning and development.
  • Make healthy life choices and access essential health care services.
  • Cultivate robust social and interpersonal skills.

The Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing targeted support to younger children and sibling groups to help them achieve their goals.
  • Working towards transitioning children and young people into family, kinship, or foster care placements.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe residential environment.
  • Managing day-to-day tasks within a care setting.
  • Completing detailed verbal and written reports.
  • Working within our ASCEND framework.
