Position Overview

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. Working with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.

Shift times (these may vary):

AM:

PM: 1600 – Sleepover

Our rosters are done in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
• Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
• Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
• Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
• Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.

Kickstart Program

Through our Kickstart program, our staff can earn while they learn, as we offer fully paid work to students starting their career in youth work. To qualify, you must be willing to enrol or currently be enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field.

About You

Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher)

Working rights in Australia

The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required

Experience in Disability Support, Aged Care, Corrections or Social Work, OR; transferable skills from personal background or exposure in one of these industries.

You must also be willing to obtain the following items, which your Recruitment Consultant will guide you through step by step:

Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Current First Aid & CPR certificate

Hope and Healing certificate

Criminal Record Check
