The Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA) is a not-for-profit, apolitical youth organisation designed for young Australians interested in China and young Chinese interested in Australia. With over 7000 members, ACYA operates through comprehensive online platforms and university/regional chapters in both Australia and China. The association is run completely on a voluntary basis by youths for youths, making it a unique and vibrant public interest resource.
Role Description
This is a volunteer role for a Career Department Officer located on-site in Canberra. The Career Department Officer will be responsible for organizing and coordinating career-related events, liaising with partners and sponsors, creating career resources, and providing support to members regarding career opportunities. The officer will also play a key role in maintaining relationships with external stakeholders and promoting the association's career-related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Event planning and organization skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and manage career-related content and resources
- Experience in liaising with partners and sponsors
- Passion for fostering Australia-China youth relations
- Flexibility and willingness to commit to a volunteer role
- Previous experience in a similar role or with non-profit organizations is advantageous
- Knowledge of both Australian and Chinese cultures is beneficial
