About The Team
The ServiceNow team operates within the Chief Information Officer division and are responsible for the daily management, maintenance and capabilities of the department's implementation of ServiceNow. Our implementation is hosted within the ServiceNow protected platform, and there are two instances supported by the team. One for internal departmental staff and the other for supporting Shared Services. The team provide services to approximately 14,500 employees across DISR and shared services.
The ServiceNow team is currently made up of Senior administrators, senior and junior developers, Business Analysts and Project Managers.
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced
ServiceNow System Administrator
with experience in managing the platform, including conducting major family releases. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in ServiceNow, and a solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices. A working knowledge of the ITIL framework will be well regarded.

What you will do
The Successful Candidate Will
Provide high level specialist technical advice on ServiceNow matters including:
- technical matters to ensure no technical debt is incurred in any build
- appropriate patching and upgrade strategies
- appropriateness of technical design of build work
- contribute to technical solution design
Administer The Platform, Performing Tasks Such As
- troubleshoot and resolve incidents
- minor enhancement work
- perform ServiceNow platform configuration activities
Liaise With Our Vendor To
- troubleshoot and resolve incidents
- patch and upgrade the platform
- create / contribute to design and security documentation for new solutions
Communication And Collaboration
- collaborate with a cross-functional agile team including product owners, scrum masters, Business Analyst's, developers, architects, testers and vendors in accordance with stakeholder requirements and broader departmental objectives.
- effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, internal and external to the department.
- mentor junior colleagues and liaise effectively with stakeholders to deliver high-quality ServiceNow outcomes.
- Knowledge of the ServiceNow Protected Platform (SPP) is desirable.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
