Are you driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact? TLEA is currently inviting applications for a full-time Senior Laboratory Technician to join our dedicated team at the Kwinana refinery, working within our operations laboratory on a rostered schedule.

In this leadership role, reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you'll play a vital part in guiding the Laboratory Shift Team. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality analytical data that supports production, while fostering a safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory environment.

This position is ideal for a seasoned laboratory professional who brings technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills with a genuine passion for building cohesive and high-performing teams. You'll work with a diverse range of advanced instrumentation, including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, WD-XRF, TGA, UV-Vis, CS Analyser, Auto-titrator, and Laser Particle Sizer.

Profile description:

• Demonstrated commitment to the maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Perform routine preparation and analysis of plant process samples.
• Prepare working standards and reagents following documented procedures.
• Monitor stock of laboratory reagents and consumables.
• Operate and perform maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments. Assist with troubleshooting equipment breakdown.
• Support the Laboratory Supervisor in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) tasks such as registering jobs, entering data, reviewing results and generating reports.
• Perform higher duties when the Supervisor is not on site such as task delegation and priority setting for Laboratory Technicians.
• Provide guidance, support and training to the Laboratory Technicians.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Five years' experience in a commercial, mining or production laboratory.
• Strong practical experience in the operation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, IC and Automated Titrators.
• An appropriate tertiary qualification or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (preferred - Diploma of Laboratory Technology).
• Experience with ISO 17025 systems will be highly valued.
• Be willing to work shift work.

TLEA proudly acknowledges the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.

Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
