6-Month Contract with Option to Extend | Melbourne Location Are you a seasoned Functional, Business, or System Analyst with a passion for ensuring large-scale IT projects successfully transition into business-as-usual (BAU) operations? . We are looking for an expert in Business Readiness, Operational Readiness, or Service Transition Analyst to drive the seamless adoption of a mission critical business application. This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Functional Analyst to join the Operations Transition Team, supporting the rollout of mission critical business applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, is confident working within both Project and Operations settings, and can translate high-level project requirements into practical, operational outcomes. You will be the bridge between project delivery and BAU operations, driving internal operational readiness by analysing and documenting functional and operational requirements and ensuring they are seamlessly embedded into day-to-day work. This opportunity is perfect for someone with deep service transition experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for making complex environments run smoothly.You will also be required to perform the following:

  • Support the coordination and delivery of operational readiness activities across people, process, technology, and compliance.
  • Map and track business requirements across the project phases, including identifying gaps that could impact readiness, to articulate operational readiness deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain internal operational readiness artefacts, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, escalation pathways, training plans, and readiness test scripts.
  • Support cutover and go-live readiness, and align readiness milestones with governance groups to achieve internal sign-off before each project phase.
  • Conduct post-implementation readiness reviews and lessons-learned activities to refine operational practices.
  • Support operational verification activities including: walkthroughs, readiness checklists, dry runs, stakeholder validation, and dual sign-offs.
  • Ensure readiness dashboards and reporting are available before each go-live phase.
  • Track operational readiness risks at each phase and contribute mitigation strategies to the transition risk register.
  • Perform analysis on transition activities to ensure a smooth hand-over to the new system and processes.
  • Gather, analyse, and translate business data into meaningful insights to support informed decision making to improve the effectiveness of the transition program.

To be successful in this position you will be a highly experienced Functional/Business Analyst who has demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, process documentation and gap analysis where you have focused on operational /business readiness or service transition on large and complex IT projects.
