The Role
Our Ridge Street site services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renowned Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella, burger slice cheeses, and a Lactose free range.
Set in the beautiful Bega Valley, our Ridge Street site is entering an exciting phase of growth, with expanded manufacturing capacity planned over the next 12 months. This growth has created a new opportunity for a collaborative and experienced Quality Manager to lead our quality function. In this influential role, you'll foster a culture of proactive ownership, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our products meet Bega Group's high standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
- Guide and enhance the site's Quality Management System to meet internal and external standards
- Build team capability and foster ownership of food safety and quality across operations
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards for all products and trials
- Drive improvements in key quality metrics including RFT, GMP, and complaint reduction
- Lead investigations, audits, and corrective actions for major quality issues
About you
- Proven experience in senior quality management within food or beverage manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, ISO14001, and food safety systems
- Skilled in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficient in quality management software systems (e.g., Intelex) and data analysis
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management, or related field
