Role Purpose

As a Solutions Architect & Data Centre – Cisco & Pure Storage – Cisco & Pure Storage, you will lead the design, validation, and enablement of next-generation data centre, storage, and AI solutions across our partner ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco Compute, AI Pods, and Pure Storage, combined with broader ecosystem integration including Nutanix, VMware, Red Hat, and Veeam.

You will drive solution design, partner enablement, and Proof of Concept (PoC) execution while also playing a key role in market engagement through thought leadership, face-to-face events, and partner education programs. Supporting partner certification and skills development is a core part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Solution Design

• Design, validate, and document scalable enterprise solutions incorporating:

• Cisco UCS/X-Series, Intersight, ACI, Nexus switching

• Cisco AI Pods

• Pure Storage FlashArray, FlashBlade, Evergreen//One

• Converged Solutions (FlashStack)

• Ecosystem integrations: Nutanix, VMware, Red Hat, Veeam

• Engage with reference architecture providers and ecosystem partners to deliver holistic solutions.

• Produce HLDs, BOMs, reference architectures, and implementation guides if requried.

2. Build & Run Proof of Concepts (PoCs)

• Scope, deploy, and manage PoCs to validate proposed architectures.
• Work closely with vendor SEs, partner engineers, and internal labs.
• Provide technical reports and feedback to inform sales cycles and partner confidence.

3. Partner & Channel Engagement

• Lead strategic partner workshops, technical discovery sessions, and opportunity qualification.
• Translate customer business objectives into multi-vendor architecture solutions aligned with best practices.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact across complex, multi-vendor opportunities.
• Facilitate certification assistance and skills uplift for partner engineers across Cisco and Pure portfolios.

4. Multi-Vendor AI Practice Contribution

• Play an active role in shaping Dicker Data's multi-vendor AI practice beyond Cisco and Pure Storage.
• Provide thought leadership, content creation, and strategic input into cross-vendor solution offerings.
• Support go-to-market initiatives, including partner education, enablement events, and public speaking engagements.

5. Vendor Alignment & Thought Leadership

• Maintain strong alignment with Cisco, Pure Storage, and ecosystem partners such as Nutanix, VMware, Red Hat, and Veeam.
• Participate in roadmap briefings, lab testing, and advisory councils.
• Represent Dicker Data as a subject matter expert at partner events, technical roundtables, and industry forums.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years in solution architecture, presales, or consulting with an enterprise infrastructure focus.

• Expert-level knowledge in:

• Cisco UCS, ACI, Nexus switching, Intersight, and AI Pods

• Pure Storage FlashArray, FlashBlade, and hybrid-cloud integrations

• Multi-vendor ecosystems including Nutanix, VMware, Red Hat, Veeam

• Proven experience delivering and managing technical Proof of Concepts.

• Strong documentation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco: CCNP or CCIE – Data Centre
• Pure Storage: FlashArray/FlashBlade Architect, Evergreen//One Practitioner
• VMware, AWS, or Azure (good to have, not essential)
• NetApp: NCDA, NCIE (good to have, not essential)
• Red Hat: RHCSA, RHCE, OpenShift (good to have, not essential)
