Financial Accountant – Leading Golf Club | North Shore Sydney

An exciting opportunity exists to join one of Sydney's most prestigious private golf clubs in a full-time Financial Accountant position. This is a genuinely hands-on role combining day-to-day accounting with higher-level financial reporting to committees and the Board.

Working within a small, friendly finance and admin team, you'll partner closely with the Finance & Administration Manager across everything from reconciliations and accounts payable to management reporting and committee presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, and detailed balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyse monthly P&L and balance-sheet reports with commentary for management and the board
  • Take ownership of full-function Accounts Payable, including supplier management and payment runs
  • Assist with bank reconciliations, term deposits, and cash-flow tracking
  • Oversee payroll processing, superannuation, payroll tax and related compliance
  • Prepare BAS, PAYG, and FBT submissions and maintain the fixed-asset register
  • Support Finance & Investment Committee meetings with accurate reporting and analysis
  • Assist the Finance & Administration Manager with projects, process improvements, and ad-hoc analysis

About You

You may be a developing accountant working toward your CA or CPA, or a seasoned professional seeking a balanced, hands-on role in a respected local organisation. Either way, you'll bring initiative, accuracy, and a sense of humour that fits a small, collaborative team.

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or similar; CA/CPA qualified or in progress
  • 2–10 years' experience in commercial accounting or chartered business-services environments
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort moving between transactional and analytical work
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with management and board members
  • A practical, down-to-earth attitude and the ability to thrive in a close-knit, positive workplace
