Covering an area of over 1700 km2 from Sunbury to beyond the borders of Macedon Ranges Shire our 220 staff and 70 volunteers are based across four sites at Kyneton, Romsey and Sunbury.

About the Role

Working alongside the Integrated Family Services team and supporting sector outcomes as part of the Hume Merri-bek Child and Family Services Alliance, the Family Violence Senior Practitioner position will work with families where there is an assessed elevated and serious risk of family violence.  This specialist role will provide child centred, family focused, case management to families with complex needs who are experiencing a high risk of family violence to improve their safety and wellbeing. The role will also, where appropriate, work with parents and adolescents who use violence in the home and provide secondary consultation to family services colleagues on complex cases where elevated risk is identified.

About You

Applicants will have:


• Bachelor (or equivalent) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other Human Services related degree, with minimum 3 years experience working in the family violence space.


• An ability to co-work and capacity build with Family Services practitioner colleagues where elevated risk of family violence is identified


• Ability to assess, implement and, with others, create responses to family violence situations


• A high level of competence in conducting family violence risk assessment and management utilising the MARAM Comprehensive Assessment tool.
