About the role

We are seeking a motivated Tax and Business Services Accountant with 1 to 2 years' public practice experience to join our growing team. This role will give you exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across industries and the opportunity to develop your technical skills and career progression in a collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS/IAS and FBT returns for a range of entities (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self managed superannuation funds)
  • Provide tax planning and business advisory support to clients
  • Conducting research into tax issues and legislation to ensure compliance and optimal outcomes for clients
  • Build strong client relationships through clear communication and excellent service
  • Work closely with the Manager and Partner on complex matters and projects

What we're looking for

  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a public practice accounting firm
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related field (CA/CPA underway or near completion highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills
