Our client, J.S KANDOLA & S MORE & P SINGH GILL, are seeking a Biosecurity Officer / Fruit Inspector to support our horticultural operations by monitoring and enforcing biosecurity measures, inspecting produce for pests and diseases, ensuring compliance with industry and government regulations, and maintaining accurate inspection records. The successful candidate will have knowledge of biosecurity practices and fruit inspection standards, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with stakeholders. Job Responsibility:

  • Inspect and grade produce to ensure compliance with grades, standards, and phytosanitary requirements

Job Duties:

  • Visually inspects berries to determine grade and compliance with state and federal standards, industry contract specifications, and phytosanitary requirements.

  • Inspects and samples of berries; for example feed, seed, fertilizer, and those needed for other plant pest management projects.

  • Conducts trappings, surveys, and facility inspections.

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws applicable to products.

  • Checks size of berries, amount, and seriousness of defects.

  • Observes and records colour characteristics, firmness, maturity, and shape.

  • Issues inspection report showing the grade and condition of the inspected berries.

  • Explains, both verbally and in writing, the grading system and related standards to produce and commodity clients.

  • Prepares and maintains reports, records, and forms related to the work.

  • Performs related work and other tasks as assigned.

Qualification:

· AQF Diploma or Higher

· 2-4 years of experience in related field

· At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications

Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
