Are you a dedicated Midwife looking to make an impactful difference in healthcare education and support? Join our multidisciplinary team as a Staff Development Midwife in Bunbury.

Position Profile:
As part of the multidisciplinary team and in collaboration with Regional Nurse Educators; plans, implements and evaluates education and training relevant to the clinical practice of the midwifery cohort. Is responsible for the orientation and midwifery development support of midwives and other staff supporting maternity care within the unit /ward (including nurses and assistants in nursing); and in particular newly qualified and junior midwives. Provides support and clinical facilitation for undergraduate and postgraduate midwives in line with education institution agreements.

As a Staff Development Midwife, You Will

  • Conduct Training Needs Analyses to assess the educational needs of midwives, nurses, and assistants within the ward/unit.
  • Facilitate evidence-based nursing care while adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) standards.
  • Provide orientation and development support for newly qualified and junior midwives as well as other maternity care staff.
  • Collaborate with Regional Nurse Educators and the Clinical Nurse/Midwife Manager to develop and deliver targeted education programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with essential competencies through effective documentation and record-keeping of education and training activities.

Ideal Candidate

  • A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Extensive clinical experience in midwifery practice.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • A proven track record in adult education and training facilitation.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programmes within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in digital health platforms to enhance learning and patient care.
