As a Senior Staff Data Scientist in the Business Bank's AI Centre of Excellence (AiCE), you'll help design and deploy multi-agent AI systems that automate lending workflows and enhance customer experiences. Using agent-oriented design patterns, you'll drive intelligent automation and deliver measurable business impact. You bring hands-on expertise in modern AI and data science, with a passion for building scalable, production-ready solutions.

The team is focused on executing a strong path towards a customer-obsessed application of AI, to deliver critical productivity yields for our bankers and exceptional value management for all our customers.

- Passionate about building market-leading commercial Gen AI applications and machine learning systems, with a focus on agentic and multi-agentic AI system design, implementation and deployment.
- Excited about tackling new, challenging business problems in Data Science using cutting-edge Gen AI tools and frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents etc
- Excellent skills on designing and implementing proper evals for the GenAI projects
- Adept at combining commercial and technical Data Science models to deliver unique, strategic value to the business.
- Collaborative and curious, working closely with product teams to solve complex data problems and influence senior stakeholders with confidence.

- Can provide Technical and thought leadership on emerging Gen AI technologies and their strategic impact.
- Are passionate about coaching and mentoring junior team members in Data Science and AI.
- Can build and deploy ML and AI solutions, leveraging statistical control and performance estimation theory to drive business outcomes.
- Can develop and implement interpretable and explainable Gen AI solutions, working with MLOps teams, Solution Architects, and Product Owners to deliver actionable insights and enhance customer engagement.
- Have experience working with large, complex datasets in corporate environments and automating data-driven processes.
- Possess strong communication skills to positively influence diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong growth mindset and curiosity in understanding the current state of the art GenAI tools and technologies and share it with the teams on regular basis.
- Demonstrated expertise with AI-powered productivity tools such as Github Copilot and proactively share best-practice insights to the entire team stays ahead of emerging trends and capabilities.
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. While we don't expect you to know them all, experience or exposure to any ML systems and statistical modelling will set you up for success in this role
- Proven delivery of Retrieval-Augmented-Generation (RAG) pipelines, including vector-database design (FAISS, Pinecone, Amazon OpenSearch) and advanced prompt-engineering.
- Expert in architecting and deploying multi-agent GenAI ecosystems—designing role-based agent hierarchies with shared context stores, dynamic tool selection, feedback loops, and robust guard-rails for complex workflows.
- Strong MLOps & DevSecOps expertise: CI/CD for ML (GitHub Actions/Jenkins), container orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes/EKS), model versioning and monitoring (MLflow, SageMaker Model Monitor).
- Demonstrated commitment to Responsible & Compliant AI—bias detection, privacy-preserving ML, model governance.
- Hands-on with Cloud-Native GenAI services (AWS SageMaker & Bedrock, Azure OpenAI) and large-scale data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, PySpark).
- Domain depth in banking & financial-services use-cases (fraud detection, credit-risk modelling, personalised customer engagement) and the ability to translate GenAI capabilities into measurable business value.
- Track record of leading cross-functional squads and mentoring senior data-science talent, shaping technical roadmaps and innovation strategy.
- Published research, patents, or open-source contributions that showcase thought leadership in Generative AI/NLP.
