Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a leading Australian manufacturer in a permanent fulltime role.
You'll be joining a highly experienced and supportive team within a well-respected and successful business based in Blacktown.
The key to your success in this role is your ability to quickly resolve machinery breakdowns, and to carry out and document pro-active preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment, including sheet metal and copper pipe profiling machinery, testing equipment, compressors, pumps, conveyors, and other plant services.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and external technical teams to drive and support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diagnose mechanical faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Qualifications:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general plant equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
