The Role:

Embark on a transformative journey with our comprehensive 4-year, full-time fixed-term apprenticeship program at our Auburn Maintenance Centre. Tailored for both school leavers and mature-aged individuals, this program equips apprentices with the skills and knowledge to excel as tradespeople. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will undertake formal studies at TAFE while gaining invaluable hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

Your ultimate specialisation will be as an Electrical Fitter, positioning you for a rewarding career path within our esteemed team.

What our Apprenticeship Program offers:

• Complete TAFE modules within designated timeframes
• Ongoing mentoring and support
• On-the-job rotational program with experienced teams at our Auburn Maintenance Centre, including scheduled maintenance, train modifications, component repairs, defect rectification, learning Sydney Trains contracts, and Zero Harm principles
• Opportunity to visit other sites and contracts in Newcastle, including Newcastle Light Rail and overhaul programs at Cardiff Maintenance Centre
• A family-friendly shift roster designed to prioritise work-life balance within our 24/7 operational site
• Graduate with a Certificate III in Electrical Fitting
• Start in January 2026
• Hourly rates:
• Over 21 $33.50 p/hr

Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated electrical aptitude
• Strong competency in Mathematics
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including familiaritywith common software applications
• Completion of Year 12 School Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
• Previous completion of any relevant pre-apprenticeship program (desirable)
• Relevant work experience, hobbies, or interests
• Possession of a current Driver's License (desirable)
