
Corporate Development Manager

Peabody is a leading coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy and steel. We employ around 5,500 people across our operations in the United States and Australia, serving customers in 26 countries.
We are currently seeking a Corporate Development Manager to join our dynamic and high-performing team in our Fortitude Valley office.
This is your chance to work at the intersection of strategy and execution in a business with significant growth ambitions. You'll be part of a dynamic and collaborative team helping to shape the next phase of our success in the coal sector.
Duties will include:
- Analyze potential transactions and industry trends to assess fit with company strategy
- Develop robust financial models and scenario analyses
- Lead preparation of business cases and board-level presentations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, legal, finance, and operational teams
- Support negotiations and manage third-party advisers throughout the deal process
- Provide insight to senior leadership on growth opportunities in domestic and international coal markets
- Collaborating with internal and external parties such as business units, legal, finance, tax, and advisors.
- Assist with Project Management of M&A transactions

About You:
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years experience in business development, M&A, investment banking, corporate finance, or strategy – ideally in the coal, mining, or energy sector
- Strong understanding of commercial drivers in bulk commodities
- Proven ability to develop and present strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and project management skill
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
