Southbank, Victoria, Australia AusNet Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year
  • Shape the future of digital at AusNet
—lead strategy and transformation across a $500M+ investment pipeline
  • Work at the intersection of business and technology
, influencing how digital enables solutions in energy networks
  • Partner with senior leaders and strategic stakeholders
to define and plan the long-term digital roadmaps

At AusNet, we're powering over 1.5 million Victorians through our electricity distribution, gas distribution, and state-wide electricity transmission networks. As our communities' energy needs evolve, so do we — and we're looking for a visionary Digital Strategy & Roadmap Lead to help us accelerate a sustainable future.

About the role

As the
Digital Strategy & Roadmap Lead—
known internally at AusNet as the
Digital Roadmap Lead
—you'll be at the forefront of our digital transformation journey. In this strategic role, you'll work closely with senior leaders and strategic partners to shape AusNet's digital direction, craft long-term roadmaps, and help plan the execution of a $500M+ investment pipeline over the next 5–7 years.

This is a high-impact opportunity where your ability to think strategically, influence stakeholders, and connect digital capability to business outcomes will directly shape how we deliver energy solutions for the future.

  • Lead the development of detailed, prioritised digital roadmaps aligned with AusNet's corporate strategy.
  • Collaborate with EGMs, GMs, and external partners to understand their key business needs that can be enabled by new Digital capabilities.
  • Translate business needs into digital initiatives with clear milestones, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
  • Plan the roadmap to maximise value and achieve regulatory compliance, with consideration for regulatory allowances, budgets, and business and digital deliverability.
  • Contribute to planning and governance forums, including the Digital Quarterly Planning Forum.
  • Support regulatory submissions and digital capital planning.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation across the digital portfolio.

What you'll bring to the role:

We're looking for someone who understands business strategy and can identify where digital plays a role in enabling that strategy. The emphasis isn't on deep technical expertise, but rather on structured thinking, problem solving, and planning capability.

  • Strategic expertise
    – ideally demonstrated through direct experience in strategy development. However, candidates with adjacent experience in areas such as business transformation, digital transformation, roadmap development, or portfolio planning will also be considered.
  • Strong business & commercial acumen

able to engage across teams and translate strategy into action, and quantify benefits
  • Big-picture mindset
    – focused on outcomes, not technical detail
  • Structured problem solving
    – ability to recognise and delineate ambiguous information to clearly articulate distinct digital opportunities
  • Proven ability
to balance multiple streams of contextually different work
  • Stakeholder influence
    – skilled at shaping ideas and driving alignment
  • Curiosity for energy markets
    and emerging technologies
  • Passion for digital innovation
and its role in enabling business capability
  • Clear visioning skills
    – able to define current state, future goals, and the path to get there

We will not be engaging with Recruitment agencies for this role, so please Apply directly.
