Position Summary: (Overview, not limited to)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our highly regarded Melbourne construction business. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

As Senior Contracts Administrator, you will take ownership of all aspects of contract administration, working closely with Project Managers, site teams, senior leadership, and the legal function.

Your role will be critical in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.

This role drives operational excellence, safety, and quality while developing high-performing teams and fostering business growth.

Key Responsibilities (Overview, not limited to)

· Prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

· Oversee procurement processes, including supplier and subcontractor selection, negotiation, and contract execution

· Manage budgets, cost reporting, forecasting, and progress claims

· Assess and administer variations, extensions of time, and dispute resolution processes

· Maintain accurate contract documentation, project reporting, and quality assurance

· Provide leadership and mentorship to junior contract administrators

· Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to foster strong relationships and ensure expectations are met

· Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to achieve timely and budget-compliant outcomes

About You - Qualifications & Skills required

· Minimum 8–10 years' contract administration experience within the construction industry in Australia, with at least 2+ years in a senior role

· Proven track record managing contracts for large-scale projects ($100m+)

· Degree qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (highly regarded)

· Strong knowledge of Australian Standard contracts (AS2124, AS4000, etc.) and relevant legislation

· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

· Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused

· Proficiency in contract management software (e.g. Cheops, Procore, Aconex) and MS Office

· Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and financial management skills.

· Experience in managing authority approvals processes

· Experienced in compliance frameworks (ISO, WHS, Quality).

· Strategic thinker with resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

· MUST HAVE FULL WORKING RIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA(to be considered)
