Your Opportunity

As the Resource Acquisition Team Leader you will oversee procurement functions to ensure:

  • Financial policies and procedures are adhered to and maximum value for money;
  • Implementation of business improvement initiatives to create efficiencies and improved accountability;
  • Build positive working relationships with all customers and suppliers.

This position reports to the Director Assets, Facilities, and Safety.

This is a TemporaryFull-Time opportunity, for 12 months unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at our Nambour campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling theestablished values of Commerciality, Teamwork, Innovation and Accountability.
  • Establish effective working relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure customersatisfaction in relation to quality, cost and timeliness for supply of goods and services and payment ofinvoices.
  • Conduct the delegated function for procurement, to ensure that processes undertaken have been inaccordance with Government policies and legislation and implement business improvement activitieswhere required.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and support teams in the development and administration ofstanding offer arrangements ensuring compliance and accountability against relevant purchasingpolicies.
  • Maintain effective team systems to ensure supportive documentation of procurement decisions isundertaken, ensuring that an audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity,accountability and audit purposes.
  • Support the manager in the development and implementation of strategies to promote goodpractices, mitigate non-compliance and eliminate any potential risk to the Region in relation toprocurement practices.
  • Produce reports in relation to procurement and supplier activities as required and report monthly onteam performance.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities to the Resource Acquisition team to achieveefficiencies and effectiveness in processes, high levels of customer satisfaction and performancetargets, with a continual focus on business improvement.
  • Oversee the administration operations of acquisitions, ensuring accountability and sound recordkeeping in the Region's financial system.
  • Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions.
  • Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.

  • Provide supervision and guidance to the team to ensure team goals are met, workloads are managed, and individual and team development and efficient and effective systems are maintained with a continual focus on business improvement.
  • Ensure Regional procurement systems, processes and practices are compliant and support the manager in the development and implementation of risk minimisation and business improvement initiatives both internally to the team and more widely throughout the Region.
  • Display the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
  • Undertake and manage a broad range of administrative and procurement activities within a commercial organisation to meet both current and future needs of the business.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Previous procurement experience and training within a commercial organisation or the education and training sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
