AEMG's Academic DivisionThe Academic Division oversees and delivers AEMG's academic programs, managing educational initiatives in collaboration with partner universities. These include:
- Teaching visit programs delivered by partners
- English language courses embedded in degree programs in China
- The DEP English language test
- Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Qualifying Programs
- Academic subjects taught on behalf of global university partners, as well as International Credit Courses delivered at Chinese universities
We are seeking a visionary Head of ELICOS to lead the strategic development and delivery of our English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) across multiple branches. Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic, this role is central to shaping curriculum excellence, fostering academic innovation, and ensuring alignment with global standards and partner university expectations.
This is a unique opportunity to influence international education outcomes and work with a dynamic team of educators across borders.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Leadership
- Design and oversee ELICOS curriculum frameworks and teaching methodologies
- Ensure alignment with accreditation standards and learning outcomes
- Drive innovation in pedagogy and digital learning tools
- Collaborate with academic teams to integrate ELICOS with Academic Content Workshops (ACW)
Faculty Development
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional growth of EAP Master Teachers and faculty
- Cultivate a collaborative teaching culture across branches
- Deliver training and mentoring to support excellence in teaching
Student Success
- Develop and implement student support initiatives focused on academic achievement and well-being
- Provide expert guidance on complex academic matters
Quality & Compliance
- Implement robust quality assurance processes to monitor and enhance program delivery
- Conduct regular teaching observations and program reviews
- Analyse academic data to inform continuous improvement strategies
Operational Oversight
- Manage and mentor a high-performing academic team
- Coordinate curriculum delivery across branches
- Ensure seamless communication between branch teams and central academic leadership
- PhD in Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in higher education teaching
- Proven leadership in EAP curriculum development and innovation
- Strong interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills
- Experience with Chinese and international education systems (highly desirable)
- Fluency in Mandarin and English
- Willingness to travel to China for program oversight
