Job Description

Established in 1988, Rest is one of Australia's largest profit-to-member superannuation funds.

As a Relationship Manager, you will own a portfolio of some of Rest's largest and most strategic employers. Your role is central to our growth and retention strategy. You will shape how employers experience our fund, influence how their employees engage with their superannuation, and strengthen Rest's position in key industries across Australia.

This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, partnerships, leadership, and client impact. You'll be regarded as the trusted adviser to employer executives, a collaborator across Rest, and the person who ensures every touchpoint reflects our commitment to excellence.

You will lead a portfolio with a clear mandate: retain, grow and deepen relationships with senior employer stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own and lead the retention and growth strategy for a portfolio of major employers, ensuring Rest remains their fund of choice.
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships with senior and executive decision-makers, and influence their strategic objectives.
  • Act as Rest's representative within industry groups and association forums, strengthening our visibility and market presence.
  • Drive proactive engagement through regular governance & employer management committee meetings, performance reviews and solution-focused conversations.
  • Collaborate across Rest's investments, product, digital, operations, insurance, legal and advice teams to deliver consistent, market-leading service.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing and new employer groups, including sub-brands and associated entities.
  • Develop and deliver annual account plans aligned with Rest's strategy, supported by structured rhythms, insights and reporting.
  • Resolve issues with urgency and care, ensuring employers and their people experience seamless support.

Qualifications

You come from a world where relationships, regulation, member outcomes and commercial accountability matter. Whether your background is in superannuation, life insurance, wealth management, financial advice, funds management, corporate super, retail super, industry super or banking, you understand how organisations partner with employers and members to deliver meaningful value.

Required:

  • RG146 compliance
  • Diploma in Financial Planning or relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic B2B relationships in financial services
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder groups, with the ability to influence HR, payroll, finance and executive leaders
  • Strong knowledge of superannuation fundamentals, insurance in super and regulatory obligations, paired with the ability to translate investment and operational insights into clear, engaging conversations
  • A proven record of strengthening strategic partnerships and driving growth in trust based and compliance focused environments
  • Confidence leading governance & employer management committees, presenting to senior stakeholders and guiding strategic decision making
  • Commercial judgement and experience developing and delivering effective account plans
  • A proactive and disciplined operating rhythm, with the ability to focus on high value activities and progress next steps with clarity
  • Skill in handling objections and navigating complex decision pathways
  • A genuine passion for improving the financial wellbeing of employers and their people
  • A collaborative, team first approach aligned with our values of grit, simplicity and action
