Where the team fits in

The Social Media Specialist role forms part of the Consumer Marketing team, who are focused on driving marketing outcomes for the , , Mortgage Choice, Flatmates and brands.

The Consumer Marketing team sits within the Audience & Marketing function, which forms part of the larger Product & Audience group led by Melina Cruickshank.

What the role is all about

Reporting to the Social Media Marketing Manager, the Social Media Specialist will be responsible for the always-on management, content creation and reporting and analytics for and social media channels, delivering against brand and business objectives.

This role will also support the effective delivery of paid amplification Social Media activity and work with the Content Team to deliver insights to drive our video content strategy and production.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Create and manage production of content that's fit for platform and aligns with our brand's voice and business goals.
  • Use social media tools like Sprout Social to schedule and publish content on our social media channels.
  • Assist in developing and implementing our social media strategy across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and emerging channels.
  • Lead the community management of our social media channels. Monitor our comments and look for opportunities to engage with our community and foster positive brand interactions.
  • Analyse and report on performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of content and campaigns and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the rollout of a successful News & Insights paid social strategy to refer visits to from social & native content.
  • Run and optimise paid amplification campaigns on Meta and TikTok to increase reach and video engagement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices, trends, and technologies to enhance our online presence.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, and other departments to maintain a cohesive brand message and support major brand campaigns.
  • Continually test and learn to improve effectiveness across campaigns.

Who we're looking for

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience manage social media for brands, with strong content creation skills
  • Substantial understanding of social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) and content creation tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a knack for storytelling.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for detail and design.
  • Basic ability to use content creation and digital asset design tools such as Figma.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Brandwatch is a plus.
  • A passion for staying ahead of digital trends and eager to learn and grow in the field of social media marketing.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform creative content direction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
