As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated Fabricator to join our team and play a key role in supporting both our marketing initiatives and business operations.
We design, manufacture, sell and hire purpose-built specialist trucks for both the private and public sectors (including stemming and water trucks utilised in mine blasting, and road maintenance trucks). We are a family-owned business with a strong 30-year history. We have a great culture and are leaders in innovation, with all product development done here in Australia.
About the role
Do you have a passion for working with metal and/or other materials? Are you experienced in building and assembling custom parts? We want you to join our team
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, and specifications.
- Fabricate and assemble new equipment including conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, various pumps (hydraulic driven) , pneumatic systems, assist with electrical fit out where required..
- Operate various tools, machines, and equipment, including welders, saws, and grinders.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Understand and follow current workshop procedures for logon to jobs, drawing updates, BOM updates.
- Occasional strip and assessment and maintenance of existing equipment
- Mentoring Apprentices
- Mainly Mild steel MIG but occasional Aluminium TIG (experience an advantage but not required)
- Knowledge of OSH/WHS requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a fabricator (minimum 2 years).
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and machinery.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Proficiency in welding, cutting, and other fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
