Now Hiring: Casual Residential Youth Support Workers

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people?

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Support Workers. In this role, you will provide exceptional care and support to young people in our residential homes, helping them thrive and achieve their full potential.

We are currently seeking 3-7 Residential Youth Support Workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building a strong connection and trust with young people, acting as a role model
  • Personalized Care – Provide tailored support to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of our young people.
  • Daily Assistance – Help with daily living activities and capacity building skills e.g. personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication assistance, and household chores.
  • Positive Environment – Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by promoting social interaction and recreational activities.
  • Monitoring & Reporting – Keep track of progress and behaviours and report any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaboration – Work with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to help create and implement individualized care.
  • Safety & Cleanliness – Ensure a clean and safe living environment, adhering to WH&S regulations.
  • Emotional Support – Offer empathy and crisis intervention when needed.
  • Continuous Learning – Attend training sessions and Team Meetings to stay updated on best practices.
  • Travel around the Townsvilleregion will be essential for this role

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven ability to connect with and build trusting relationships with young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Skilled in implementing effective strategies to mentor and guide youth in developing essential life skills.
  • Experience – Experience in similar role or industry related
  • Skills – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with young people, their families, and colleagues.
  • Organisation – Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Patience & Empathy – Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and understanding.
  • Flexibility – Willingness to work shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Licenses and Clearances:

  • Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Australian Driver's License & Comprehensive car insurance (for personal vehicle)
  • Additional Mandatory Training: Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module & Hope and Healing Framework, we are able to help you obtain access to this.

Flexible and Rewarding Shifts Available

We have a variety of shifts available to suit different lifestyles and commitments:

  • Evening support shifts
  • Sleepover shifts
  • Awake/active overnight shifts
  • Weekend shifts

Please note: Due to the nature of supporting young people, weekday shifts during school hours (9am–3pm) are limited, except during school holidays.

This role is perfect for those whose main availability falls outside of typical 9am–3pm day hours. It's especially ideal for university students or individuals whose personal commitments align better with evening, overnight, or weekend work.
