VCE Design and Technology Teacher

De La Salle College Malvern, a distinguished independent Catholic College for boys in Years 5 – 12, has a rich history since its founding in 1912. We are currently seeking a VCE Design and Technology Teacher. This is a full time ongoing role.

Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).

Job description:

• Deliver Design and Technology curriculum
• Deliver Building and Construction curriculum
• Creating a child-safe environment for students.
• Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders, such as Class/House Mentors, Education Support Team, Year Level/House Coordinators, School Psychologists, and Directors of Students, to monitor student progress and well-being.
• Providing timely marking and feedback to student work.
• Ensuring up-to-date student data management systems.
• Developing and delivering programs that leverage technology to enhance learning.
• Setting and maintaining high expectations for student performance standards.
• Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.
• Identifying personal professional learning needs and participating in the annual Professional Learning Plan process.
• Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.
• Utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.

Skills/Experience required:

• Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
• A strong commitment to Catholic education.
• Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
• An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.
• Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.

Special Requirements:

The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
