Position Summary

Reporting to the Spatial Analytics Manager, the Digital Engineering Lead is responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting Digital Engineering standards, specifications and BIM workflows, providing assurance across the project lifecycle working closely with project teams, contractors and other stakeholders.

This role will involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Digital Engineering strategy, specifications and standards.

  • Develop digital solutions to support project development, delivery, operational readiness, testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance.

  • Oversee and coordinate BIM processes across multiple designers and contractors, ensuring seamless integration of project data into a Common Data Environment (CDE).

  • Integrate BIM with other digital engineering systems, such as GIS and asset management systems, to ensure comprehensive project oversight.

  • Implement quality assurance processes for BIM deliverables, ensuring they meet project specifications and standards.

  • Develop Digital Engineering processes and automation tools to streamline workflows.

  • Process documenting, development of user guides, end user training and support.

  • Ensure consistent application of digital engineering standards, frameworks, and data governance practices.

  • Maintain a current working knowledge of contemporary practice and trends in Digital Engineering.

  • Collaboration within the Spatial Analytics team and across Industry to achieve best for company outcomes.

Skills and experience

  • 10+ years' experience in in BIM and Digital Engineering, with a proven track record on large infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards (e.g., ISO and data exchange formats (e.g., IFC, COBie).

  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with a diverse range of people working in multi-faceted functions leading to successful outcomes.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing management plans, standards, specifications and procedures for Digital Engineering

  • Experience in developing and implementing new solutions and resolving problems to improve overall performance.

  • Advanced hands-on proficiency in BIM software, including Autodesk AEC Collection, and expertise in clash detection and model coordination.

  • Proven ability to coordinate and drive Digital Engineering excellence across the project lifecycle

  • Expertise in 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM applications for project planning and budgeting.

  • Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Dynamo) for process automation and workflow enhancement.

  • A proactive communicator who engages effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction management or a related technical discipline.

  • Driver's Licence.
