Position Overview

The Inwards Goods Team Member plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of stock into Dorset's warehouse. This includes checking goods, documenting deliveries, and ensuring items are stored appropriately for efficient inventory flow. The role is hands-on and suits someone with a strong attention to detail, good time management skills, and a proactive approach to working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities


• Receive, check, and record incoming inventory in accordance with company procedures


• Assist with unloading of delivery vehicles and verify incoming stock against documentation


• Maintain organisation and cleanliness of the receiving area


• Inspect products for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly


• Communicate with procurement, warehouse, and inventory staff to assist with stock movements


• Follow inventory control procedures and warehouse safety protocols


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process enhancements


• Demonstrate Dorset's W.I.N.G.S values in all activities

Systems Used

Training will be provided where required:


• NetSuite (ERP system)


• VLM (Vertical Logistics Management)


• RF scanners and inventory tracking systems


• Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

Skills & Experience


•  Experience in warehousing, logistics, or inwards goods preferred


• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy


• Forklift licence (essential)


• Strong communication and time management skills


• Familiarity with ERP systems or warehouse software an advantage


• Ability to work safely and effectively in a physically active role
