DPV Health Offers a range of services for men who use violence including a men's case management services, men's behaviour change programs and post participation services.
Our men's behaviour change program places the safety of victim survivors and children and the centre of our intervention and invites men to consider and take responsibility for the impact of their behaviour on people in their lives. The program runs over 20 weeks and integrates psychoeducation, awareness raising and skills drawn from dialectical behaviour therapy to A case management program for up to six months providing weekly individual support to men
About the opportunity:
These positions sit within the Mental Health and Family Violence Directorate. The role of Principal Facilitators is integral to the program and specifically creates a space to:
Encourage men to take responsibility for their use of family violence
Provide an opportunity for men to explore attitudes and beliefs that may influence their use of violence
Increase men's understanding of the impact of their use of family violence on their partners and/or children
Teach men skills to manage their emotions, distress and interpersonal effectiveness
Assist men in making changes towards developing safe and respectful relationship with their partners and children.
The Principal Facilitator offers a specialist response including facilitation of weekly groups. In this role, you will demonstrate the following.
Proven capacities to work effectively with people impacted by family violence, including male perpetrators of violence.
Demonstrated capacity to conduct risk assessments using the MARAM framework and safety planning for women and children and understanding of the FVISS and the CISS.
Experience in facilitating groups where there is varying client engagement
A good understanding of non-collusive practice and gendered context of family violence
An understanding of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or a preparedness to undertake training
Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
A preparedness to work within an evidence-based framework and commitment to evaluation
A sensitivity to and understanding of clients' needs from diverse backgrounds.

Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Victoria Police Check
Current Victorian Driver's License
a relevant tertiary undergraduate degree (in social work, psychology, counselling or a related subject)
a graduate diploma or graduate certificate qualification in men's family violence
a 100 hours of experience facilitating men's behaviour change groups.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC
