Farm Hands - Irrigation

Mulgowie Farming Company is one of the largest and most respected horticultural businesses in Australia, specializing in the growing, packing and marketing of fresh produce for domestic and export markets. We are an Australian owned and operated family company.

We are currently seeking a farm hand to assist with the crop irrigation at our farming operations at Mulgowie and reporting to the Farm Manager. To be successful in your application, you will need to address and have experience in the essential selection criteria:

Duties:

  • All row crop irrigation duties including, setting up of irrigation, pulling & rolling tape, fertigating, monitoring irrigation requirement and irrigation equipment maintenance
  • Large tractor & implement operation
  • Strong communication skills
  • High energy, good people skills and be well disciplined
  • A willingness to learn attitude and be keen to make a difference
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Be willing to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends

Desirable:

  • Trickle tape irrigation experience
  • Large scale horticulture enterprise experience
  • Trimble experience
  • Current HR/MR & forklift license
  • Chemical Certificate
  • Controlled farm traffic experience
  • Ability to read and interrupt irrigation data
  • First Aid Certificate
