About the role

We are looking for an Advisor, Internal Communications to help us deliver internal communications and engagement strategies that align to the SafeWork NSW vision, strategy and people strategy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a small team across both traditional and digital channels to ensure effective, consistent messaging across the organisation.

The Advisor, Internal Communications will:

  • Develop and evaluate strategies: Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of internal communication and engagement strategies.
  • Create content: Produce engaging written and visual content for emails, newsletters, SharePoint, social media, presentations, and speeches.
  • Organise internal events: Coordinate and support internal events, including all-staff meetings. This includes preparing briefings for executives and providing technical assistance for online or hybrid events.
  • Give advice: Offer advice on best practices for internal communications and engagement, and gather feedback and share insights so we can continually improve.
  • Monitor and report: Track the effectiveness of our internal communications, including creating dashboards and reports to inform future decisions.
  • Build relationships: Work with teams across the organisation to understand and meet executives' priorities, and make sure executives get seamless communications support.
  • Champion initiatives: Promote employee engagement programs and initiatives, including health and wellbeing services, professional development and training opportunities, and social events.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering effective communications in a large and complex organisation.

Key Skills:

  • Proven ability to create and roll out internal communication plans and content to engage employees
  • Skilled at creating visually engaging content using tools such as Canva, Campaign Monitor and Swift
  • Experience organising events
  • Confident working with internal stakeholders to solve problems and brief executives
  • Adaptable and willing to change work tasks on short notice based on fast-moving priorities
  • Experience maintaining and updating content on a Sharepoint site is desirable

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field are desirable.
