What is the role?

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Coordinator – Shared Services within Business Services.

Business Services is a multifaceted branch that sits within the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Command and directly contributes to AFP operational outcomes, providing support and enabling our people to deliver maximum impact to the criminal environment. The experience you bring to the role will benefit the organisation by:

Facilitating high-quality corporate services (Supporting the front line)

Implementing and managing business and system improvements to remove barriers, speed up decision making and increase efficiency (Reducing red tape)

Providing training and help desk facilities to engage and work closely with both our members and external stakeholders (enhancing partnerships)

The Coordinator works in a high tempo environment, leading a number of diverse teams to deliver corporate services and initiatives to AFP appointees and visitors, including:

Domestic Travel Support- Assistance with corporate credit cards, FlexiPurchase, CTM as well as the relocation of AFP members

International travel- Complete international bookings process for AFP members

SAP Administration & Support- Including the SAP and Insight Help desk facility, training and processing of pays

Account & Client Services- Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Debt Management and Treasury teams

Developing governance and policy across teams

The Coordinator is therefore required to ensure outcomes are delivered in accordance with Business Services strategic priorities, regulatory frameworks, and the AFP Code of Conduct. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the positions as outlined below.

What will you do?

Business Services are critical to support frontline AFP personnel who protect the Australian community. The skill, dedication and professionalism of corporate service providers greatly contribute to the ability of the AFP and partners to concentrate their powers and capabilities most accurately and for maximum impact on crime.

In the role of Coordinator Shared Services, you will provide leadership and strategic direction to deliver Shared Services outcomes. This role has in depth knowledge and understanding of the AFP business and the impact of roles and functions undertaken in relation to the organisations reputation in effectively managing Shared Services functions.

Reporting to Manager Business Services, Coordinator Shared Services is a crucial part of the Business Services Leadership Team.

Working effectively and leading a number of teams, Coordinator Shared Services is required to:

Represent Shared Services on boards and steering committees, where appropriate

Liaise with senior stakeholders on Shared Services objectives and alignment with AFP business needs

Provide strategic oversight of organisational structure and resources, including but not limited to staffing, contractors and management of assets

Actively manage and promote a healthy working environment. This includes embracing diversity, inclusion and respect.

Maintain effective internal and external relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes for the AFP and Shared Services.

Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Shared Services team in the delivery of outcomes for the AFP.

Essential Requirements

You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience of contemporary financial and/or Shared Services practices and their application in the public sector

Knowledge of government and industry strategic initiatives

Highly developed strategic and analytical skills

Proven leadership capabilities

Contemporary Corporate Systems knowledge (SAP or similar)

Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:

Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, inclusive and safe workplace

Demonstrated capability and willingness to support the AFP's workforce including guiding, mentoring and coaching as required

Additional Information

This role is located in Canberra and applicant is expected to be based in Canberra. Successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Canberra.
