Description

We currently have an opportunity for an Asset Manager to join our Health and Education team. This is a fantastic chance to broaden your experience, contribute to high-impact work, and explore new career pathways within the business. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering strategic asset management and compliance, helping to ensure our essential services are supported by robust, efficient, and future-ready infrastructure. 

You'll be working closely with a passionate team committed to making a real difference in the communities we serve. Reporting to the Facilities Director, you'll be responsible for driving high-quality outcomes across a diverse portfolio, with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This position is a 12-month maternity cover with opportunities to extend or work on other key accounts in Downer.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

  • Lead the delivery of asset management and compliance strategies across a major healthcare facility.

  • Oversee lifecycle planning, asset condition analysis, and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure service excellence.

  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance infrastructure performance and system resilience.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, and safety obligations.

What You'll Bring

  • Engineering qualifications with technical knowledge of hospital infrastructure and systems.

  • Proven experience in Asset Facilities Management within hospital facility environments.

  • Strong understanding of ISO 55000, lifecycle planning, and performance-based contracts.

  • Knowledge of PPP models would be advantageous.

  • Ability to lead subcontractor performance and manage compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with strong reporting skills and attention to accuracy.
