Edge Building Solutions are an energetic young company led by well respected Engineers known within the Queensland Construction Industry. We are continuing to grow and are seeking a passionate mechanical engineer to be part of that growth.

Our work focuses on the built environment as put simply, there are more existing buildings than there are new ones.

So what are we looking for?

  1. Someone with a passion for their craft who can help our team deliver projects . Projects will comprise the design of mechanical services for existing buildings and will cover everything from interior fitouts, mechanical plant and equipment upgrades through to building repositioning projects across a range of market sectors including commercial, retail, education, industrial, civic and leisure and hospitality )
  2. An individual able to lead multi-discipline projects as the single point of contact for external clients
  3. An individual who possesses or is able to readily pickup an understanding of other services such as fire, electrical, communications, security, audio visual and hydraulic.
  4. Good communicator both written and oral.

In terms of attributes, we are seeking someone who:

  1. At least 6 years experience working as a mechanical engineer in the Building Services industry and no more than 15 years
  2. Understanding of applicable standards (eg NCC, AS1668.1 & .2)
  3. Ability to complete heatloads and multiple enclosure calculations
  4. Good understanding of HVAC design principles around onfloor air side distribution systems and their design
  5. A desire to understand HVAC design principles around central plant air and water side systems and their design
  6. Exposure to Autodesk Revit or a willingness to learn
  7. University degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  8. Hold a permanent residency or are an Australian Citizen

In terms of salary, this is open for discussion and will be based on the individual.
