The Project:

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

The Role:

Reporting to the Building Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer will see that works are integrated with the broader T2D project and that associated Mechanical and Electrical works are successfully coordinated with the Building works.

The Senior Project Engineer will oversee the delivery of Maintenance and Operation Centres and Surface Buildings across the T2D Project, managing engineering interfaces and reporting on progress, cost and compliance.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engagement with subcontractors and field teams through planning, coordination, engineering resolution and execution of works.
  • Manage and Plan the Construction of Surface Buildings and M&E integration.
  • Manage and drive responses to Technical Queries, Design Proposals and construction changes as they arise.
  • Assist with the Development and monitor construction schedules for Building works, proactively addressing risks.
  • Ensure strict compliance with WHS legislations and T2D Alliance safety systems.
  • Provide regular progress reports, workforce forecasts, and issue escalation to senior leadership.
About You:
  • Degree or trade qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Design and/or Construction management on Tier 1 or equivalent projects. Ideally within tunnelling, on bridges or other large scale infrastructure environments.
  • Training in project management systems, WHS management, or quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with advanced project management technologies and software: ACONEX, Power BI
